Tucker's ClayPSH Clay
Earthenware
400 The ideal white handlbuilding & potting clay for studio & classroom alike. Fits all our 06 decorating media. Bisque at 05 for best glaze results at cone 06.
405 A very plastic, versatile, white clay with sligthly less craze resistance than 400. Bisque at 04; glaze at 06.
410 A very plastic clay containing no talc. Ideal for unglazed applications or with crackle glazes. Fires cone 06-03.
415 405 with 15% coarse (20 mesh) grog for sculpting larger pieces. Fires warm-white flecked lightly with cream & grey.
425 A slippery-smooth general purpose terra-cotta. Colour deepens from cone 06 - 2. Good for Majolica. Craze resistance improves with higher (04-03) bisque firing.
435 425 with 10% medium-coarse grog for handbuilding larger pieces. Fires cone 06 - 2. For very large forms, use 620.
Cone 6 Stoneware
455 Plastic throwing clay with a fireclay "tooth", firing to a warm buff with speckle at cone 6; risk of bloating above.
505 Fires rusty red-brown with a faint, creamy fleck at cone 6;deeper & greyer at 8. Versatile body with a soft "tooth".

570 A lighter variation of our very popular 580. Fires in reduction to a variegated grey white at cone 10.
580 An excellent cone 10 reduction body. Fires gray-buff, warmer at glaze edges. Ideal for functional ware.
Sculpture Clay
600 Contains 15% coarse grog for making larger forms.Fires to a textured cream-gray from cones 6 to 10.
620 25+% coarse grog yet surprisingly plastic. Fires to a textured, deep red-brown with light flecks at cone 6.
Super White Earthenware
700 Our whitest earthenware with an exceptionally low crystalline silica content. Bisque at 03; glaze at 06.
Cone 6 & Cone 10 Porcelain
900 Classic cone 10 porcelain formulated for maximum whiteness. Widely used by production & teaching potters alike.
905 Formulated for maximum transluscency and superior craze resistance at cone 10. Due to higher glass content, large or unbalanced forms may deform slightly.
910 A bright, white, versatile porcelain for use at cone 6-8.Ideal clay for realizing cleanest colours from stains.

Earthenware
L210 Smooth, lighter coloured terra-cotta body at cones 06-04. Brown in the cone1-4 range.
L212 A popular, smooth, cream white clay with talc.
Mid Temperature Stoneware
M325 A robust, finely grogged, general purpose mid-temperature body firing grey-buff at 6.
M332 Sandy, yet very plastic, a warm red-buff at 5-6.
M340 Highly recommended. A smooth, grey-buff firing clay for moderately sized functional ware.
M350 A smooth, plastic throwing clay firing red-buff at cone 5-6. Ideal clay for functional ware.
M390 A smooth, plastic throwing clay firing to an unusually rich, deep red brown at cone 5-6.
Cone 10 Stoneware
H431 A sandy textured, open, robust reduction body firing grey buff with medium speckle at cone 10.
H440 A plastic throwing clay with slight tooth. Fires speckled, deep red brown in reduction.
H443 Like H440, but lighter & less speckled.
H460 Like M340 for cone 7-8 oxidation.
H550 A popular, light firing body, now, smoother, more plastic & less prone to bloating.
H555 Plastic, off-white reduction body for functional ware; a blend of Plainsman & imported clays.
Grogged Clays
H440G H440 with 20% 20m grog for large scale work.
H441G Light firing sculpting clay with 20% 20m grog.
Cone 6-10 Whitewares
P300 Moderately plastic, mid temperature, smooth, white porcelaneous stoneware.
P530 Cone 8-1O ; Not as white as porcelain but better working & drying properties.

Laguna Clay
Earthenware
10 Smooth, plastic, non-talc white clay. For best glaze fire at cone 06, bisque at 05.
Mid temperature Stoneware Porcelain
15 Transluscent. Grolleg-based. cone 6 porcelain. Very good for throwing thin pieces -large or small.
50 Popular. light sand clay with a fine speckle at cone 6.
55 Off-white cone 6 throwing stoneware with minor fireclay speckling. Ideal for functional ware.
60 Cone 6-9 body with speckles resembling iron reduction spotting.
65 Cone 6-8 white throwing body for functional ware. 66 65 with sand; best for tile, slabs, & sculpture.
80 Plastic for throwing; Fires red-brown. In 4-6 range.
90 Similar to 80 but darker in colour. Fire at cone 4-6.
BMIX5 Smooth cream-white throwing clay. Fire at cone 5-6.
FROST Cone 6. Very white, very translucent porcelain in oxidation; off white in reduction.
Cone 10 Stoneware Porcelain
550 Fine transluscent porcelain based on English Grolleg kaolin. Good for throwing & handbuilding.
750 Dark toast clay for wheel, slab & handwork. Excellent colour at cone 10 if not over-reduced.
850 Off-white, moderatly textured, throwing body with fireclay. A popular cone 10 reduction clay.
BMIXIO Smooth, cream-white throwing clay. Fire at cone 10.
